The Year of the Tiger postage stamp will be issued to celebrate the Chinese New Year

The Year of the Tiger postage stamp will be issued to celebrate the Chinese New Year
Today, on 1 February, the Year of the Tiger postage stamp will be issued. The postage stamp is the newest in the series of postage stamps dedicated to the Chinese New Year. The postage stamp is ideal for international letters.
There are a total of 12 animal signs in Chinese astrology, and the tiger is the third. According to one legend, the names of the animals date back to the time of the Buddha, who named each year after the animals that came to say goodbye to him. The tiger is considered the king of all animals in China and is a symbol of strength and courage.

The postage stamp was designed by Triin Heimann and it was printed in the printing house Vaba Maa. The printing house printed 20,000 Year of the Tiger postage stamps, each costing 1.90 euros, i.e. the tariff rate for an ordinary international letter.
In addition to the postage stamp, the traditional first day cover (FDC) and information card will also be published. The first day stamp is used on 1 February at the Toompea post office.

The postage stamp can be purchased from the e-shop of Omniva and in post offices all across Estonia.
