Omniva wins Universal Postal Union award

For more than 50 years, 9 October has been celebrated as World Post Day. To mark the occasion, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) publishes its Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD), with which it recognises countries that demonstrate the best results in this field each year. This year has seen Omniva awarded the title of ‘Rising Star in Postal Development’.

Director Mart Mägi describes the recognition as extraordinary: although Omniva has ranked highly every year in the overall Postal Excellence Awards, it has come out on top in the ‘Rising Star in Postal Development’ category for the first time. The company has recently been focussing on making its operations more efficient, and in doing so has improved the quality of its services significantly. “Needless to say it’s the Omniva team who have secured this award for us,” Mägi said. “We truly value the contribution they make to the company.”

2IPD is a composite index providing an overview of postal development in 170 countries. The UPU is an international organisation operating under the UN. Estonia first became a member of the UPU in 1922. Its membership was restored in 1992 following the end of the Soviet occupation.
