Sold-out Christmas stamp is back – Omniva releases an updated reprint
In October, Omniva issued two new stamps with Christmas-themed designs. The domestic self-adhesive stamp sold out quickly, which led to the decision to produce a reprint. What makes this edition special are the snowflake symbols added to the sheet to highlight the second print. The designer of the Christmas stamps is artist Kadri Võsumäe.
“Sending letters during the holiday season remains popular, as confirmed by the rapid sell-out of the Christmas stamp. Since we wanted to make the reprint a little more special, we added snowflake symbols to the stamp sheet to distinguish batches for collectors. This helps differentiate it from the original and adds interest for collectors worldwide,” said Hannes Nagel, Head of Philately at Omniva.
A reprint of an Estonian Christmas stamp is quite exceptional – it has happened very rarely over the years. This year, however, the reprint was necessary due to much higher-than-expected demand, which caused the first print run to sell out quickly compared to last year.
This year’s Christmas stamps are suitable for both domestic and international mailing. The domestic self-adhesive stamp is priced at €1.50 with a print run of 100,000 copies and a reprint of 75,000. The international self-adhesive stamp costs €3.50 with a print run of 75,000 copies. The traditional stamp is available for €1.50, with a print run of 12,000 copies.
In 2025, Omniva will issue over 35 stamps celebrating significant national and societal events. Omniva’s stamps are printed at Vaba Maa printing house, using FSC-certified paper to ensure responsible forestry practices.
