Omniva issues Estonia’s first postage stamp dedicated to the Paralympic Games

Omniva is issuing, 26 February, Estonia’s first postage stamp dedicated to the Paralympic Games, recognising Estonian para-athletes and their journey to the Milano–Cortina 2026 Winter Paralympic Games.

The stamp was presented at the Apollo Plaza bookstore following the official introduction of the Milano–Cortina 2026 Paralympic delegation and Team Estonia Paralympics. The stamp was designed by Kadri Võsumäe.

The roots of the Estonian Paralympic Committee date back to 1986, and the committee, founded in 1991, has been a member of the International Paralympic Committee since the same year. Since then, Estonian para-athletes have represented Estonia consistently and with distinction at international championships – and now their journey is also symbolically captured on a postage stamp.

“Estonian para-athletes have been competing on the world stage for years. Now, Estonia’s first postage stamp dedicated to the Paralympic Games will accompany them to the Paralympics. This is an important and symbolic milestone not only for our athletes and for Estonian philately, but also for society,” said Hannes Nagel, Head of Philately at Omniva.

The new stamp forms a unified whole together with the Winter Olympics stamp. Both stamps share a common message about Estonian athletes representing their country on the world’s largest winter sports stage.

The stamp is priced at €1.80 and the print run is 30,000 copies. The stamps are available in Omniva’s e-shop and post offices across Estonia.

In 2026, Omniva will issue 46 postage stamps highlighting important themes and events in Estonia’s national and social history and culture. Omniva stamps are printed on paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The FSC label confirms that the wood used in the production of the paper comes from responsibly managed forests.
