Keila residents can try the Picapac private parcel machine at their doorstep free of charge
International technology and logistics group Omniva is expanding its Picapac private parcel machine pilot project to Keila, offering owners of private houses, terraced houses and small businesses the opportunity to have a private parcel machine installed at their doorstep free of charge.
Picapac is a private parcel machine installed at the customer’s home and connected to Omniva’s parcel machine network. It can receive shipments from both Omniva and other delivery companies, accept food deliveries and provide access to additional services such as laundry services. Customers can also send parcels through Picapac, and when sending or receiving parcels with Omniva, the standard parcel machine service pricing applies.
In addition to parcels, Picapac users can also receive letters, newspapers and magazines through their private parcel machine. This means that both parcels and mail are delivered to one convenient location at the customer’s home. Shipments are protected from the weather, and customers receive a notification when their mail has arrived.
“We already have our first Picapac users in Keila, which gives us the confidence to expand the private parcel machine network in the area. We now want to give more Keila residents the opportunity to experience how convenient it is to send and receive parcels right from their doorstep,” said Aleksei Kolesnikov, Product Manager for Picapac at Omniva.
The pilot project aims to assess the demand for private parcel machines installed at customers’ homes and understand how people use them in their daily lives. It will also help Omniva better understand how a denser private parcel machine network can support last-mile logistics and the further development of the service.
Participants in the pilot project can use Picapac free of charge for three months. Omniva covers the installation and transportation costs of the parcel machine. Under normal circumstances, the installation and use of Picapac are subject to a fee.

In addition to Keila, residents of Kiili, Kohila, Saue, Kakumäe, Tabasalu, Tiskre, Nõmme, Viimsi, Peetri and Uuesalu, as well as the Tõrvandi and Ülenurme areas in Southern Estonia, can participate in the Picapac pilot project. The pilot area is gradually expanding, and people living outside the current project areas can join the waiting list. When selecting new locations, Omniva takes into account the number of people from each area who have joined the waiting list.
