Hans Teiv reflects on his time as CEO of Eesti Post in the fourth episode of Omniva’s Postipoisid podcast
On Friday, 4 September, Omniva will release a new episode of its Postipoisid podcast, in which Omniva CEO Martti Kuldma speaks with Hans Teiv, former CEO of Eesti Post. During Teiv’s tenure, the company invested in a new sorting line despite declining letter volumes and made difficult staffing decisions.
The fourth episode of Postipoisid looks back at a period of significant change for Eesti Post. Traditional letter services were in decline, competition was growing, and the company had to decide where to invest and which new opportunities to pursue.
The conversation explores the decision-making vacuum Hans faced when he took office, the post office network, labour shortages and difficult staffing decisions. It also examines how commercial considerations clashed with the public interest in running a state-owned company. Hans recalls Eesti Post’s operations in Kazakhstan at the time and speaks openly about the tensions arising from the differing expectations of the owner, the supervisory board and the ministry.
Postipoisid is Omniva’s podcast series in which CEO Martti Kuldma speaks with former leaders of Eesti Post about the company’s history, leadership, and the evolution of the postal and parcel markets over the years. The podcast reflects on key turning points, management decisions and developments that have helped shape the Omniva of today.
