Get in the holiday spirit with this year’s Christmas stamps – they’re on sale now!
Omniva has released two new postage stamps dedicated to Christmas. One of this year’s Christmas stamps is traditional, as requested by Estonian collectors, while others are self-adhesive. Both Christmas stamps were designed by artist Kadri Võsumäe.
“December, along with Christmas, has always been the peak season for the postal service, with a vast number of letters and cards delivered to mailboxes. I It is estimated that mail sent during the Christmas season accounts for up to half of the total annual volume of letters in Estonia. This shows that care and personal messages remain valuable – especially during the holidays. Despite the digital age, Christmas cards continue to warm people’s hearts,” said Hannes Nagel, Head of Philately at Omniva.
Both stamps were designed by Kadri Võsumäe, whose artistic style is known for its fairy-tale softness, storybook-like aesthetics, and attention to detail. Her illustrations give the designs a recognizable and heartfelt appearance that resonates with both younger and older senders alike.
“This year, following Australia’s trend and at the request of our Estonian collectors, we issued Christmas stamps in both classic and adhesive formats, blending traditional stamp culture with modern consumer preferences. Having the same design appear in both versions appeals to everyday letter writers as well as dedicated collectors. Australians are exemplary in philately – they know how to maintain a connection between their roots and the present day, and such an approach also gives our issue greater international recognition,” added Nagel.
This year’s Christmas stamps are suitable for both domestic and international mailing. The domestic self-adhesive stamp is priced at €1.50 with a print run of 100,000 copies. The international self-adhesive stamp costs €3.50 with a print run of 75,000 copies. The traditional stamp is available for €1.50, with a print run of 12,000 copies.
In 2025, Omniva will issue 30 stamps celebrating significant national and societal events. Omniva’s stamps are printed at Vaba Maa printing house, using FSC-certified paper to ensure responsible forestry practices.
