How to send batteries?
Lithium ion batteries (Li-ion)
rechargeable batteries which, for example, are used in the following products:- laptop computers
- cell phones
- MP3 players
- Portable DVD players
- GPS devices
- recording cameras
- photo cameras
- battery-operated tools etc
Lithium metal batteries
non-rechargeable batteries, which are used in small portable devices:- watches
- thermometers
- calculators
- remote control panels (for cars/keys)
- back-up batteries for electronic devices etc
The restriction for the postal consignment of batteries only applies for lithium batteries. You will recognize a lithium battery from the marking on the battery. For lithium batteries and their packaging, they are marked with the abbreviation of CR, Li or the name of the battery is written out in words.
NOTE! Lithium batteries are considered to be hazardous goods, for under certain circumstances they may overheat and ignite.
