Added value for Hiiumaa residents – Have your bicycle checked!

On Friday, 28 June, between 9:00 and 10:00, locals of Kärdla can have their bicycles inspected for free to make sure the vehicles meet the legal requirements. In collaboration with the Police and Border Guard Board, the specialists check if the bicycles are road-safe and have all the necessary accessories such as lamps, bells and reflectors. If necessary, Falck road assistance mechanics will fix smaller issues on site.

Hiiumaa rural municipality mayor Reili Rand starts the bicycle trip on 28 June at 10:00, at the Kärdla town square. The organisers and the police ask for heightened attention and reduced driving speed from all drivers on Hiiumaa roads over the two days, as the large group of bikers affects normal traffic.

All 94 bicycle trip participants wear a helmet and brightly coloured clothes to be role models and also visible to other drivers.

The trip is organised by the Omniva sports club with Falck Roadside Assistance, Regio, Police and Border Guard Board and AS Eesti Coca-Cola HBC.
