Omniva is the best postal service provider in the Nordic countries

Estonia was granted an honourable 13th place in the 2018 Postal development report by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), involving 173 countries. Omniva improved its last year’s result by five places and became the best postal company in the Nordic countries in this year’s ranking.

According to Ansi Arumeel, Member of the Management Board in Omniva, reaching TOP15 in the world is a remarkable achievement and a great honour. “Reaching such a high position entails exemplary results across all indicators. There are certainly areas, in which Omniva has room for improvement in the future and, in conclusion, strive for even better results ,” said Arumeel.

Among Eastern European countries, Omniva reached third place with 71.7 points after Poland and Slovenia. When it comes to neighbouring countries, Sweden was ranked 19th, Finland 20th, Lithuania 22nd and Latvia 43rd.

The overall first place was granted to Swiss Post, the Netherlands came second and Japan was third. According to the Universal Postal Union, these countries were chosen as the top three because all of these countries, without exception, offer high-quality services and have a great global reach. All three postal companies can also endure changes as well as the changing environment and the demand for various services offered by them is very high.

The study was based on the largest data set that has ever been used in conducting studies in the postal field. UPU big data, which includes the data of over 3 billion shipments worldwide, was used among other data and compared with existing statistics and surveys by the UPU. Countries were ranked on the basis of four primary factors: reliability, reach, relevance, resilience.

The Universal Postal Union, i.e. UPU, which has 192 members, was established in 1874 and is the second oldest international organisation in the world. UPU is the primary association that regulates the cooperation between companies who are active in the postal sector and advocates the provision of modern and high-quality services.

The main area of business of the Omniva Group is the provision of postal, logistics and information logistics services and the processing of e-invoices. In addition to the parent company, AS Eesti Post, the group includes subsidiaries and associates. The main area of business of SIA Omniva and UAB Omniva LT is providing parcel machine and courier services in Latvian and Lithuanian markets. The main activity of AS Maksekeskus is providing payment solutions for e-commerce companies in the Baltic States. OÜ Post11 provides comprehensive international logistical solutions for delivering goods throughout the entire world.
