Omniva’s parcel machine network continues expanding: 12 new machines in Estonia

Omniva will install 12 new parcel machines in Estonia during the month of July. As a result of the expansion, the company’s parcel machine network will be accessible in more than 50 different Estonian towns and villages and more than 120 locations across the Baltics. 
During the expansion this summer, Omniva will install new parcel machines in Loksa and Kunda among some of the smaller places. As the use of the parcel service is also rapidly increasing in towns, new parcel machines will also be installed in new locations in bigger cities. Thus, new parcel machines in Tallinn will be located by Merimetsa Selver, Valdeku Comarket and Paepargi Maxima, and in Tartu by Raadi Maxima and Anne Selver. New locations near Tallinn include Viimsi (Pärnamäe Rimi) and Maardu (Maxima), parcel machines will also be installed in Haapsalu (Kastani), Kohtla-Järve (Ahtme Maxima) and Narva (Prisma).
The last expansion took place this spring and primarily focused on installing parcel machines in smaller places.
According to the head of Omniva’s parcel machine network Tanel Raun, the network is constantly adjusted based on the needs of the people using it. “We keep an eye on parcel volumes in all areas and use this data to add new machines or alter those already in use,” Raun explained. 
Omniva’s parcel machine network has expanded during spring and summer not only in Estonia, but also in Latvia and Lithuania and will grow in the Baltics by 28% this year. By now, Omniva has 234 machines in more than 120 cities with approximately 28 000 parcel compartments in the Baltics and is the largest network of its kind in the region.
“Our customers are increasingly asking for the parcel solution to be available in the whole of the Baltics and it is our goal to take the service as close to our customers as possible,” Raun stated.
According to Raun, the parcel machines have become so popular mainly thanks to their round-the-clock availability and the speed of service and Omniva’s parcel machines have become the most preferred option for sending and receiving parcels.
Before the summer, Omniva also changed the times some of their parcel machines are emptied for a later time to provide their customers the opportunity to drop their parcel off even later, yet, still be assured they are delivered the next day.

Next year Omniva will provide the use of their parcel machine network in the Baltics to other partners to contribute to the development of online trade.
