Omniva’s parcel machine network will expand by almost a third

Omniva will install seven new parcel machines in Estonia over April and May. By autumn, the logistics company’s parcel machine network in the Baltics will have grown by 28% and will include 57 new machines.

During the first expansion starting already in April, most of the parcel machines in smaller towns and villages will be installed and two new locations will also be opened in Tallinn. As a result, the parcel machine service will reach Kadrina, Antsla, Lihula, Tamsalu and Torma by the middle of May, among other places. In Tallinn, the new machines will be installed by the Mustamäe Mustika centre and Lasnamäe Linnamäe Maxima.

According to the head of Omniva’s parcel machine network Tanel Raun, Omniva’s parcel machine service will also be made more available in rural areas. “It is apparent a significant part of online shoppers live in rural areas where there aren’t that many parcel machines. As we have already densely covered urban areas with our parcel machines, we will also be focusing in the future on installing more machines in villages where sending and receiving parcels is also popular,” Raun explains.

Omniva with its 205 parcel machines already has the largest parcel machine network in Estonia and the Baltics. By autumn, this will further grow by 28% with the addition of 20 machines in Estonia, 22 on Lithuania and 15 in Latvia. According to Raun, the company’s goal is to take the service as close to its customers as possible and the expansion is another step in this direction.

According to Raun, the new locations are not only welcomed by locals but will also add value to the rest of the network. “Shortly it will be possible to send parcels to Kadrina or Antsla, for example, without having to worry whether the local post offices will be open on a suitable time or not,” he adds.

According to him, parcel machines have become so popular exactly for their round the clock availability. In addition, it is easy to use the parcel machines for sending a parcel to another machine, post office or directly to the receiver’s home via a courier. By previously entering the shipment at Omniva’s e-service, it is possible to send a parcel anywhere in Europe and it only takes a few seconds. Thanks to these advantages, Omniva’s parcel machines are the most preferred option for sending and receiving parcels.

The addition of seven machines in the spring will start at the end of April and should be finished by 16 May.
