Growth of Omniva is supported by parcels business, volumes of letter service are decreasing

According to the economic results for the last six months of the international logistics company Omniva, the development of E-commerce is contributing to quick increase in the number of parcels sent by parcel machines, whereas the number of letters is decreasing faster than expected.

In the first six months of 2015, the volumes of the parcels sent by Omniva in the Baltic States have increased by 10%. The largest increase occurred in the number of parcels sent by parcel machines - approximately by 50%. Because of the growing demand for parcel machines, Omniva has continued to expand its network of parcel machines in Estonia and Latvia. Omniva has a total of 194 parcel machines in the Baltic States, out of which 104 are located in Estonia, 46 in Latvia, and 44 in Lithuania. This makes Omniva the biggest company in the Baltic States offering parcel machine services.

At the same time, the number of domestic letters decreased by 16%. Approximately 86% of the letter service constitute the invoices sent by companies and institutions which are more and more often sent through electronic channels. Within the past six months, the volume of universal domestic letter service has decreased by 18% and profits of the service were 2.6% of the Group’s commercial revenues.

The volumes of advertising services increased by 13% compared to the same period in the previous year and this was also supported by the elections of the Estonian Parliament (Riigikogu) in March. The volumes of e-invoices mediated by Omniva are also quickly increasing. The volumes of sales invoices have increased by more than 100% and the volumes of purchase invoices approximately by 30%.

Omniva Group’s commercial revenues of the first six months of 2015 were 34 million euros, the Group’s net profit was approximately 0.8 million euros. In the first six months of 2015, the commercial revenues of Omniva have increased by 19% compared to the same period in the previous year.

On 2014, Omniva Group’s commercial revenues were 59.9 million euros, the Group’s consolidated net profit was approximately 1.3 million euros. In the first half-year of 2015, the company paid to the state budget the dividends in the net amount of 1 million euros, to which 0.25 million euros was added as the income tax.

Omniva Group includes Eesti Post Ltd as a dominant company and Payment Centre Estonia Ltd, Omniva UAB in Lithuania and Omniva SIA in Latvia as subsidiaries.
