Eesti Post to release Lotte-themed postage stamps

Eesti Post will release four Lotte from Gadgetville themed postage stamps, which can be bought at the Lotte Village Theme Park, at the post offices of Eesti Post and at the checkouts of Prisma Peremarket from this Saturday.

According to Kaido Padar, the Head of the Mail Division at Eesti Post, it is the second Lotte-themed issue in the history of Eesti Post. “The first one was very successful. So far, our stamps have been mainly focusing on birds, animals, and the heads of state and government. But we should also pay attention to children, and Lotte is undoubtedly very popular among them,” explained Padar.

There are four 0.55 euro stamps in the Lotte stamp booklet, which depict the puppy girl Lotte and her good friends. The stamp booklet also contains six stickers of Lotte and her friends, which are sure to bring a lot of delight to children. The price of the stamp booklet and the set of stickers is 2.20 euros.

Furthermore, there will be sets, which in addition to stamps and stickers contain two 3D postcards.

Along with the release of Lotte stamps on Saturday, the Lotte Village Theme Park will also open its doors, where letters and postcards bearing the new stamp can be posted right away.

Based on illustrations by Heiki Ernits, the stamp booklet was designed by Indrek Ilves. The first day temple will be used at the post office in Tallinn post office building on Saturday. The issue quantity of the stamp booklet is 30,000 and the booklets are printed by printing house Vaba Maa.

The next exciting stamp will be released on June 4 and it is based on Navitrolla’s artwork “Teistmoodi Eesti” (“Different Kind of Estonia”). The nominal value of the stamp is 1.20 euros. As tourists also buy more stamps in the summer, then according to Padar, this stamp provides a good opportunity to also introduce Estonian art elsewhere.
