E-commerce increased Omniva’s turnover in the first half of the year

In the first six months of 2014 Omniva’s business income increased by 8%, compared to the same period last year. This growth in income was mainly a result of the growth of e-commerce and the company’s expansion in Latvia and Lithuania.

The Omniva group’s business income in the first half of the year was 28.5 million euros, and the group’s net profit was 214,000 euros.

The company’s business income increased mainly due to e-commerce related solutions. The biggest increase was in the usage of parcel terminals. The number of parcels sent using Omniva’s parcel terminals in the first six months of this year grew by 124% compared to the same period last year.

Since the demand for parcel terminals is ever-increasing, Omniva took upon itself this year to expand its parcel-terminals network in Estonia, and its parcel terminals network will have grown by nearly one-quarter by mid-August.

The amount of maxi letters and registered letters coming from abroad increased by 46%. Advertising services volumes grew by 11% due to Omniva’s increase in market share and the growth of the advertising media market. At the same time, volumes of domestic letters fell by 17%.

In the year 2013 Eesti Post’s business income was 56 million euros in total, its business expenses last year were 53.7 million euros and its net profit was 2.3 million euros. The company paid 400,000 euros in dividends to the state’s treasury last year, to which 106,000 euros will additionally be paid as income tax from the dividends.

The Omniva group includes the parent company AS Eesti Post as well as subsidiaries AS Maksekeskus in Estonia, Omniva LT UAB in Lithuania and Omniva SIA in Latvia.
