Omniva issues jubilee stamp dedicated to Baltic-Nordic cooperation on Nordic Day
On 23 March, Nordic Day, Omniva is issuing a postage stamp dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Baltic-Nordic cooperation, highlighting regional partnership and the ties between the Baltic states and the Nordic countries in today’s Europe.
The roots of Baltic-Nordic cooperation go back to the early years of Estonia’s regained independence, when the Nordic countries supported Estonia with knowledge, experience and shared values. Over the years, this has developed into a mutual partnershipand a common space for cooperation. The central motif of the jubilee stamp is a tree, symbolising this bond, historical continuity and cooperation that has grown stronger over time.
“This is a cross-border cooperation stamp marking the 35th anniversary of Baltic-Nordic cooperation and one of the most important issues in this year’s stamp programme. Its value lies both in the theme and in its execution. The central design of the stamp was created by world-renowned Norwegian graphic designer Martin Mörck, while the frame, First Day Cover and cancellation were designed by Estonian designer Kaarel Kukk,” said Hannes Nagel, Head of Philately at Omniva.
The stamp is priced at €1.80 and is suitable for domestic mail. The print run is 100,000 copies. The stamp is available in Omniva’s online shop and at post offices across Estonia. The First Day cancellation is in use at the Tallinn Kaubamaja post office.
In 2026, Omniva will issue over 40 postage stamps marking important themes and events in the history and culture of Estonia and Estonian society. Omniva’s stamps are printed on paper bearing the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) mark for responsibleforestry. The FSC label confirms that the wood used to produce the paper comes from responsibly managed forests.
