Software supporting e-invoices will be receiving a certificate

The Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications, Urve Palo, will be ceremonially handing over first Omniva certificates to finance software companies whose software supports the use of e-invoices.

Certificates will be issued to companies who have created software, which allows receiving and sending e-invoices via Omniva e-service.

„We wish to acknowledge and support companies who are supporting the distribution of e-invoices with their software inventions. Transition from paper invoices to e-invoices helps us to spare the environment and gives many Estonians an opportunity to do more on their position than just print and enter data, and also to receive bigger wages for what they do," minister Urve Palo commented.

According to Omniva's chairman of the board, Aavo Kärmas, changeover to electronic management requires a common direction and a will to invest into effectiveness today so we could spend less time on moving information tomorrow and more on things of greater importance. „As a leading information logistics company we see ourselves as the leading power of e-business. Our goal is to support the rapid and strong development of e-business and transition to e-invoices is definitely a big part of what we are aiming to achieve. I am sure that the proportion of e-invoices will become greater in the future and those who have boarded the train of innovation amongst first will reap the winnings," Kärmas told us.

E-invoicing solution created by Omniva is currently used by most ministries, many state bodies and self-governing agencies, headed by the city of Tallinn, and by thousands of companies, amongst them being Tele2, Eesti Energia, G4S and Nordea Bank.

E-invoice is a document that can be fully sent and used electronically. E-invoicing is cheaper and environmental friendlier compared to using paper invoices. Also, a transition to e-invoices will give companies better overview of the information, making it easier to analyze and making records management more transparent.

Currently, about 15% of invoices sent between Estonian companies are e-invoices, rest of them being either in PDF form or on paper.

Omniva certificate will be given to thirteen companies on a ceremony held in the Energy Discovery Centre at 16.00. The recipients of Golden Certificate are saavad DataCatering OÜ, Columbus Eesti AS, HÄT Systems OÜ, Fujitsu Estonia AS, BCS Itera AS, Sysdec AS and Tresoor Tarkvara OÜ. Silver Certificate will be given to San Revilo AS, ExcellentBusinessSolutions Eesti AS, Gaiasoft OÜ, Tarkvaralabor OÜ, Taavi Tarkvara OÜ and Vesiir OÜ.
